Giving back to the Greensboro community by helping clean this local park was very fulfilling. I enjoyed assisting in reversing some of the damage caused by litter while simultaneously experiencing nature.

Thrilled to have worked with Beyond Sports! Spending time speaking, bonding, and playing soccer with the kids there was a wonderful experience.

During MLK Week of Service (2024), I volunteered with Backpack Beginnings. It was an enriching experience that allowed me to support children and families in need. My primary task involved sorting clothing donations to ensure families received high-quality items they could rely on.

This role gave me a deeper appreciation for the importance of providing basic necessities to create stability for those facing challenges. It was rewarding to know my efforts contributed to the organization’s mission of empowering families and giving children the tools necessary to thrive.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to support such meaningful work and look forward to volunteering again in the future.

Taking part in a solo city clean-up was a wonderful experience! Spending time collecting trash over the course of 6 days gave me a new perspective on how much waste accumulates in public spaces and the importance of individual action.

While working alone, I felt a strong sense of responsibility and pride in contributing to a cleaner environment. Seeing the immediate improvement in the area I cleaned was both rewarding and motivating. This experience reminded me that even small efforts can make a significant difference. It’s inspired me to continue taking personal steps toward environmental care, such as minimizing waste in my own home, and encouraging others to do the same.

Dedicating 20 hours to Family Promise Riverside was a meaningful way to support families in need. My work included shopping for essential items, organizing donations, creating social media content, and assisting the homeless population.

This experience deepened my understanding of the challenges families face and the importance of empowering them to achieve sustainable independence. It was humbling to see how even small contributions could make a significant impact.

I’m grateful to have played a role in advancing the mission of Family Promise Riverside and look forward to continuing to support their incredible work in the future!
