I volunteered at the Village Church Preschool to help my friends mom with her students and helped set up the classroom for thanksgiving! She always shares fun stories about her energetic students, making me eager to volunteer more! Hanging out with the kids was refreshing and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them all. Giving back to the church in little ways that connect me to it has always been close to my heart!

I took the VAC'S student survey!
I volunteered for uplift which I like to think about as a Walgreens on wheels. It's located in downtown Kansas City and you can go with a group or yourself, but I went with my mom and dad. When we got there we immediately started sorting through donations and then loaded up the trucks with what was needed for that specific day. Once the trucks are loaded with the blankets, warm clothes, books, meals, medicine, etc. we get into the van and decide who will be running the "store" and who will be handing out meals. Each van has a designated route every night so that way people know when we're coming and where to be. Uplift is my favorite place to volunteer because I get to hear people's stories and get to be someone they look forward to seeing. It also makes me take a step back and focus on reality because so many of these people have high spirits and a lot of them still have big aspirations and dreams.
I helped set up tables over fall break for a charity organization that was raising money for pediatrics. It was a a whole day event and I was happy to be apart of it. I got to see how many people would come together to help those who needed it. The turn out was amazing and so many people enjoyed themselves at the event while raising money for a good cause.

I chose to spend my time donating blood at the Kappa Sigma house. It was my first time ever giving blood and I was nervous at first but the workers were very well trained and made me feel comfortable. I was so happy that I chose to participate and could potentially help people. I loved my experience and have donated blood again since then.
