Great time to serve, clean, and fellowship with my ncat community.

Giving back to the younger generation has always made me happy to basically give back to my younger self.

Something as simple as decorating the cafe to help prepare for a beautiful event created simply for the students just made it more evident that giving back doesn’t take much. I enjoyed myself and had fun meeting other Aggies while just vibing to Christmas music and giving back to our school.

I enjoyed writing positive letters to women and children in domestic violence shelters. It felt empowering to motivate another woman with other black women who loved giving back to their community with their time and energy.

We planted blackberries and actually talking to the children and asking them “What they wanted to be when they grow up ?” was very humbling. In a sense where I could motivate them and that a school full of minorities could see encouragement and what it looks like for an older minority such as myself being successful and giving back to the community. Leading by example is the best way to put it.
