    Gloria Williams

Gloria @ Volunteer indoor hospital driver at University of Maryland Medical Center

My experience was okay. I didn't learn much since I was just helping to transport disabled, or elderly patients, and visitors from one place to the other. However, I realized that this volunteer work requires a lot of patience. During my 3 hours on Saturdays and Sundays, I would hear many stories, and most of them were sad to hear.

    Gloria @ Assurance wireless

I don’t Norma write a lot on my reflection. But this is a must. I learned a lot. Basically the company works with the U.S government where we handed out free cell phones to any person on any type of government benefits such as social security, Medicaid, food stamps. At first I was confused and curious about why they were making us give out free phones. Turns out it’s to reduce unemployment rate. People are out there looking for a job but without a phone it is hard to get one since most of the jobs are now online. We basically set up in high foot traffic areas and community centers. It was overall an exiting experience. I got to learn more about government benefits, how they work and so on. I also got to meet new people from different cultural backgrounds. Even though these people needed help they have the biggest heart than people who are well off. It also thought me not to judge a book by its cover. I would love to do this again.

It was Fun. We had a scavager hunt where other students signed off on our paper to win prizes. There was a lot of information on clubs, filling out your FASA, and signing up for winter classes. There were games to play, with and snacks to eat. Overall it was a fun event.

    Fall 2022 Special Scholarships Survey

The survey was very helpful. It asked about my thoughts on my classes. How can they be improved. Last but not least it also asked about my learning ways in terms of technology. Whether I prefer everything electronic or digital.
