Since July 4, we have been fostering Cooper, a 3-year old male Australian sheperd mix. We were really hoping he'd be adopted by now (have added his picture and our blurb about him on the adoptee web site) as we can only keep him about another week. He has been having a happy time at our house and we have enjoyed him. He and our 12-year old female lab mix get along well, and he gets along with other dogs and people. He would be a good pet for anyone other than perhaps a family with small children (based on notes from previous owner - we have not seen any problems first hand as no small children in our house). He is quite smart and knows Come, Sit, Stay, and Shake! He walks well on a leash. He is of medium activity level and has been getting at least 2 good walks each day. We're hoping this time at our home will make him more adoptable. My concern is that he has some areas of alopecia on his rump and back paws (not noticeable from the front). He scratches more than average (all over, not necessarily at the alopecia areas). Thus far the meds from AAC and fish oil have not seemed to make a difference (was hoping the hair loss was stress-induced and that we'd have seen a change by now).
