This is a fun event but it seems like the students spend a significant amount of time waiting to get in. Maybe adding another entrance would help move them through faster and allow the students to spend more time inside having fun.

I was assigned to Kitt Central. My shift was two hours and the majority of the time we had no carts. This created frustration for some of the parents. There was only one student for a good portion of the time checking in students. I was also at the front desk so ended up getting a lot of general questions about restrooms, parking, etc because I was the only other person up there. The hall director was there momentarily. I let them know I was getting lots of questions but they did not offer any assistance and were at one point in their office with their feet up. In general it seemed like one more person would have been very useful as well as more carts for the families.
Volunteered for parking and they did not need me. Helped someone with luggage carts as that can be quite busy and best if there are two people.
It seems like the RA's generally have the swag distribution covered. The luggage cart volunteer is typically very busy so maybe more cart volunteers.
The event itself was great! I even overheard a student say how well organized everything was. I got a ton of questions about what college their major fell under. Specifically Communications. I don't know if they knew what CMCI was. Most thought it was under Arts and Sciences. I also had a lot of questions about PES and if that was Arts and Sciences as well.
Always fun volunteering and seeing families during such an exciting but emotional time.
It's nice to interact with the students and families but I felt like with all the RA's volunteering and the hall director, they were already well staffed.
My experience was great! I felt useful with the assignment I was given. I would volunteer for this event again.
