Was a great experience. I learned so much about native birds in the area and their nesting habits. We installed a wood duck box and made a suitable environment for it by removing invasive species.

Gathered lots of trash for some rewarding work on a nice day!
I always love a good trail cleanup! We got so many bags of trash and helped the environment and campus!
Planted trees and bushes and keeping the trails clean! Fun times with the Office for Sustainability!
Cleaned up trash, removed invasive species.
Palliative Care- 2 hours- Went with women in the community who work to serve elderly and disabled members of the community who require assistance and care. We checked in on them and provided them with necessities and toiletries. I hope that those visits benefited them by giving them company and items.
BFLA- 3 hours- with BFLA we walked the streets of Dangriga and passed out condoms to the community and educated people on safe sex, hopefully lowering the teen birth rate and STD rate. We also made soap, supporting a female owned business in the community and donated the soap back to the people of Dangriga.
Bocawina National Park- we cleaned up the National Park's plant nursery by clearing leaves, raking, and leveling the ground. I think this work will help the seedlings grow and give a bit more organization.
We also brainstormed and planned future projects with the head park ranger on new ideas for the Park's visitors center, which will hopefully be utilized in future projects with the university.
Serving St. Matthew's Anglican School to build them a chicken house, raised garden beds, a high tunnel, teach reading, and instruct classes was very impactful to not only the school, but also myself. The work we completed will provide a sustainable food source for the children at the school and an income through selling the excess production.
Experience was good, they were quick and I got a t shirt and cookies
Got vaccinated
