I enrolled in online American Sign Language classes through the Oklahoma School for the Deaf. These classes helped me gain a deeper understanding of ASL grammar and learn new signs I had not before. This experience will help me in the future when I communicate in American Sign Language. I hope to have opportunities in the future to practice what I have learned and grow my skills.

I am a member of the University of Arkansas American Sign Language Club. I have been able to brush up on my ASL and have had many opportunities to communicate with Deaf community members. I have learned confidence through this experience and have been challenged in many ways.

I volunteer as a Young Life leader at Har-Ber High School in Springdale, Arkansas. As a leader I have the opportunity to meet high school students in the school, at practices, and other related events. As a team, we plan and execute events for the students and get to tell them about Jesus. This role involves meeting with my team weekly, spending time with individual students and being a part of activities at the school weekly.
I watched the video about the "Band Aid" project put together by Emily Myers from the University of Arkansas. This project had a goal to eliminate noise related hearing loss for Arkansas Razorback Band members. I shared this video and information with others.
