This was a zoom call talking about ways we can get involved in the may non profit organizations around NWA.
Voting this year was really interesting for many different reasons. The candidates and covid were the two things that made this election one for the books. This year was the first election I was eligible to vote in and I'm glad I took my opportunity, it really made me understand how important it actually is to get out and vote. I went and voted with my mom and since I was a first time voter, she wanted to be there with me. This wasn't my first time to be at a voting poll though, my senior year of high school I took AP US Government and since it was an election year we got the opportunity to work General Election polls. We had to learn all the ropes of how the polls worked including the voting machines and the machines that count the ballots. We even learned how to look up a person in the system and print them a ballot. My experience of actually voting was much different from working the polls because covid had not hit yet, but I'm glad I got that opportunity because I went in and wasn't intimidated by the process. It took about 10 minutes to get in and out of the building, everyone had to wear a mask and social distance from each other. I thought it was very smart to make people use the stylus on the screen to eliminate multiple peoples fingers touching it. Overall, I enjoyed my voting experience and I will never forget it!
we learned how to be calm and mindful. we also did yoga.
We heard from a representative from the VAC and it was very helpful. I learned the different ways to get involved and help out the community and the community we have on campus.
