I absolutely enjoyed volunteering at this Micah 6 location! The people were extremely welcoming, friendly, and seemed to truly appreciate us being there! I loved the teamwork involved and getting to know other individuals part of the Austin community.

Great opportunity to interact and get to know first year students as well as the ULN Mentors! Loved spending time with my co-leads and building relationships! This event wrapped up the TX 20 first Leadership Series perfectly, because the mentors did such an awesome job at welcoming them!
This community service event is probably the best I have participated in while at UT Austin! My co-mentors and University Leadership Network mentees helped keep Zilker Park in Austin, TX clean for a day! We walked around the park for several hours and picked up any trash in our way. While doing so, we had the opportunity to admire nature and create a bond with our mentees. Two birds with one stone! Overall, the event was a great turn out! Once finished, we took metro back to campus!
Donated toiletries for the homeless! Afterwards, helped package these items inside paper bags and made holiday cards to go with them. Bags included: toothpaste, toothbrush, razors, chap-stick, etc. Enjoyed the time spent with ULN friends and mentors!
A well-planned event! Volunteered in decorating paper bags to later add toiletries in them and created holiday cards for soldiers.
College 102 was a complete success, and I enjoyed it thoroughly! The event was extremely organized and rewarding to me and other HBSA members. The organization hosted an event for middle school students to learn more about the college experience and benefits. Overall, HBSA's goal was to encourage students to pursue post-secondary education no matter what their situation may be. The middle school students enjoyed themselves plenty and were engaged throughout every phase in the event. I absolutely loved College 102, because it was an opportunity for me to give back to others!
Eight HBSA members, including myself, participated in the annual Texas THON at UT. Each one of us helped raise at least $100 and hosted our own fundraisers to help reach our goal! Though it was a bit frustrating at times, the result was extremely rewarding! Additionally, we were supporting a great cause and helping children in need. I raised about $99 with the help of family and friends! I look forward to participating again next year and actually attending the Texas THON event for those who raise $100 and above!
