Service hours through my spirit group: The Texas Ladybirds Spirit Organization. During this particular event that takes place several dates throughout the semester, we write uplifting messages and notes in order to spread positiveness around campus. A variation of this event included making holiday cards for the ladies and children who are survivors of domestic abuse at SafePlace shelter.
Worked with my spirit group, The Ladybirds, to fundraise for SafePlace, a local shelter for domestic violence victims. The fundraiser was an on-campus bake sale. I volunteered by helping bake the day before the bake sale.
I helped clean and organize an office for one of my parents' friends who works for the state. At first, it was an event I would not normally go for, but at the end it was rewarding, because the person I cleaned for was very grateful of my hard work!
Sat at a table and distributed materials to registered guests. It is a nice event, but it was poorly organized.
We gave out free hot chocolate to encourage people to stay positive for finals! It was a rewarding experience because a lot of students truly appreciated it.
