This was HANDS DOWN the most inspirational event I have ever been to! For 12 hours straight, I stood for the kids who couldn't. I heard countless speeches from the miracle children and their families about how much of an impact this event has on their family. I am extremely proud to have participated in this event.

I had a lot of fun helping out at the Zilker Kite Festival! I got to assist the booths in handing out their flyers and help the water refill station. It was super chilly, but there was still a great turn out and always something for me to do.
I had such a good experience at the Concho garden! I had no idea that UT had a community garden! I helped dig holes for the posts of the raised flower beds, which was fun and challenging ( we uncovered several huge rocks under the soil).
I had so much fun passing out candy and cards filled with inspiration! It surprised the students that walked by and put a smile on their faces, which means a lot during finals. My ULN group did a great job!
I learned how to clean the horse saddles and bits and I got to put a saddle on Midnight. I have never done that before, I have only watched the other volunteers so it was a cool learning experience. I enjoyed my time as always!
I loved getting to side walk with our student on Saturday. We went on several trails I had not been on and I also groomed one of the horses. I loved my time there, as usual!
Longhorn Halloween made me feel like a kid again! I was in charge of the huge bouncy slide and it was so fun to see the excitement on all of the children's faces as they climbed the ladder to top. Everything ran smoothly and all of the children behaved perfectly. I will definitely volunteer next year!
I got to lead a horse this morning for the first time. I really enjoyed experiencing the horse in that way and learning how to handle it. I was also able to give the rider a few pointers and it was fun getting to interact with her more closely. I hope I get to lead again!
I got to walk Teeny Weeny the miniature horse and help take care of some of the horses basic needs. It was a great day!
This was a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and help restore some of the bike trails at Walnut Park after all of the rainfall we have had. It was so nice to see all of the bikers and walkers on the trail; they were all really pleased with the restoration we were doing, which felt really good.
