I went to the Quail Creek Park Tree Mulching event organized by Keep Austin Beautiful. We raked out and weeded around the younger trees in the park and then spread mulch around them.
I went to a Longhorn Lights Out event. I turned off lights and monitors and projectors in WEL Building with my group of other volunteers. This serves to conserve energy for UT's campus. The email address I was given for confirmation or questions is longhornlightsout15@gmail.com.
We made paper-bag gifts with socks, combs, razors, and some other items for the homeless and tied bows on the cards attached to the bags to close them.
The group planted a dozen or so trees in Pease Park off of Shoal Creek. I helped carry branches and bamboo from and area that was being cleared to give the new trees some space to grow.

I volunteered with Longhorn Run 2015 from 5:30-10:30 AM. I worked on setting up the course, which involved riding on the back of a pickup and hopping off at various locations to set up water tables and mile markers. Then, after the start of the race at 8:00 AM, I worked on the water bottle table at the finish of the race, handing out water bottles to the participants as they finished.
