Being a part of the Alternative Breaks program was a life changing experience. This is an exceptional group of people who are all passionate about helping others. Over the course of the week we were in New Orleans, we volunteered with various groups and organizations to help make an impact with those who are still being effected by Hirricane Katrina. We helped with construction on a house, cleaned up and made a community garden more efficient for everyone to enjoy, and even met one on one with survivors who just needed help getting things done. To be able to see how this natural disaster is still effecting lives 11 years later was so eye opening. It was some of the hardest work I've personally ever done but I would do it all again if I had the chance to.

Serving at the Capital Area Fod Bank of Texas was such a great experience. Aside from meeting so many great people, the work we were doing really revolved around teamwork. The work was also rewarding in the way that we knew we had provided meals for over 200 families that day.
