I volunteered at Potters House. I moved a lot of furniture around and created some space to place new furniture. Some of this furniture included barstools and tables. I also organized hangers and worked on hanging up pants. I was always asking what more could I be doing, and in turn I helped the unloading crew get large pieces like a metal sink. Overall, I love volunteering at Potters house.

The survey was very interesting and I learned a lot of important and new information. I didn't know anything about nonprofits because the definition gets a little ambiguous at times. Though, I now know what nonprofits are and gained a new interest.
I volunteered at potters house. The staff was amazing and I put clothes on mannequins, put up clothes, and put up shoes. I did a lot of cleaning this day and worked on making sure the environment was conducive for consumer purposes. I had a great time and it was very gratifying seeing the peoples faces shopping there.
I went to an honors event over international grants and scholarships that could be attained for study abroad. It was very beneficial because prior, I didn't know that there were so many programs offered to undergraduate students studying engineering. I also didn't know that there were so many opportunities for funding. Overall it was a great experience and I learned a lot.
Volunteering at potters house was great. I truly felt like I was making a difference in the lives of both the community and the workers. For the 4 hours that I volunteered, I sorted books, organized shelfs, cleaned, re-racked clothes, moved loads from the truck to the store, and helped some customers. I will definitely be coming back to do more volunteering here.
Volunteering at Salvation army was a pleasant experience. Mainly sifting through clothing bins, I got to see the new merch that would be at the store and it made me happy to see the peoples faces getting new clothes. I had a pleasant experience here.
I went to the coffee cart at gearhart at 11 am at the downstairs lounge. This was a wonderful honors event because it truly helped me perk up for the remaining classes I had that day.The coffee was really great and they even served snacks, which was perfect because I was starving.
I attended #honorsunmuted: Continuing the Conversation with Dr. Kumar. Dr. Kumar is an amazing person and I really appreciated all the wonderful information she had to bestow. With Dr. Kumar, I felt comfortable just speaking freely about things I had been wondering about or anything really; she really actively listens.
I worked with the love for paws program feeding and cleaning cages for animals. It was a great experience but it made me a little sad leaving all of them.
Voting at the Polls.
Voting at the polls was a very interesting experience. To being, it was first time voting and I didn't have many expectations about how this process was going to take place. Going into voting, there were many variables that I was surprised by. For one, I had never seen the black, technical boxes that we would be voting through. Also, I believe there was a lot of bias in the people that were there for voting purposes. For example, the women who took my name basically asked me who I was voting for based on an analogy to pen colors that were being distributed at the church. There were no blue pens available, only red ones. When asking if they had any other pens, the women proceeds to ask me , " What other color could you possibly want". As it was first voting experience, I wanted to have the color of pen corresponding the party I would be voting for. To which I responded with, "Blue". I then received multiple stares and glares as if asking for a pen of that color was outrageous. In response, I defiantly walked to the box I was led too, voted, and then proceeded with my day. I was slightly disappointed because although I didn't have many expectations, there were some things that many people were offered that I didn't see at my constituent voting area. There were no voting stickers and many other interesting souvenirs that new time voters were receiving elsewhere in the state that were not present at my location. I believe there should not be any biased placed on voters at such places because not only can it initiate disorderly conduct but it can make people feel insecure or propitiate motions that have no place as institutions such as these.
