I volunteered at Anthony Ice Cream Truck, and it was a very good experience. While I was there the director gave me training on how to make everything and how to work the snow cone machine and the milkshake machine. I made things like ice cream cones, ice cream cups, milkshakes, snow cones, sundaes and handed out soda and waters. I also organized cups and lids so it would be easier to find and to get to and labeled things like the syrups and the waffles cones and sugar cones. It gave me the opportunities to interact and help other people in my community. I helped serve customers and we bounded over ice cream and how simple ice cream can bring people together. This volunteer work connected to what we learn in class about helping others. It connects to biology because good interaction with people can affect people's well-being and good emotions. This volunteer opportunities taught me that even the little things matter in life. Small kind things can make a big positive impact. I also learned the importance communication, work ethic and timing. This whole experience had a positive impact on me because it really changed the way I look at volunteering because I realized there are many different ways to give back to your community. Overall, this was a very good experience for me, and I would 100 percent do it again and Mr. Anthony was an amazing director and leader.
