CAPP 411 invasive plant project volunteering. Greeted by a praying mantis which was kinda magical.
Great group of volunteers today. wow! I'm impressed with all the volunteers accomplished today. Beautiful weather and blooming redbud trees were a bonus.
Garden is on a roll building community in the New Year. Attended second Saturday garden day and helped 2 plots become adopted by new community garden members and more.
Lovely gardening weather in December made for a productive and enjoyable gardening event.
improved knowledge of invasive pistache vs soapberry vs sumac and learned about girdling female pistache from examples of recent past volunteer work. Always fun to use the extractor tools to remove saplings of invasive trees. Moist soil from recent rains made for easy, fun, satisfying work. Leader is knowledgeable and patient with sharing invasive plant expertise. Beautiful afternoon for volunteer work despite such cool temps overnight. Hope lost gloves were found!
Beautiful Fall day and a great group of volunteers to spread mulch. It was fun and it feels good to be a part of improving the trail tread and enhancing soil health for trees along the trail. And it looks better, too! Project was well run and finished on time (a bit before) so we can enjoy the rest of our Saturday.
