On September 19th, I had the absolute privilege of volunteering with Alliance for Cape Fear Trees at Portia Mills Mines Park. Throughout this experience, I worked with other, passionate, like-minded volunteers to provide care to newly planted trees throughout the park. This opportunity allowed me to step outside of my usual routine and contribute something that will benefit the community for years to come. This experience reminded me that volunteering does not have to involve huge action in order to make a meaningful difference, and taking the time to give back to the community can be personally rewarding and impactful! A special thanks to Casey Geer for making the experience as positive and engaging as she did– I look forward to working with Alliance for Cape Fear Trees again in the near future.
