George Chapman II

Came for orientation and ended up walking dogs until well after dark. I didn't want to leave! Both the animals and the people are awesome, and the atmosphere just blew my mind. I went in not knowing what to expect, thinking that maybe it would be upsetting to see so many animals without a home. And while it was, once there, you just kinda shift gears and redirect on helping to make their experience there as pleasant as possible. It was also great to see the depth of concern and compassion exhibited by all the staff and volunteers. Those animals have hit hard times, but they're still quite fortunate to be in such good hands at the nation's greatest no-kill shelter. I'll definitely be coming back as often as possible!
