The soccer game was very entertaining. Before going to the game, I didn't know which team was ours, but as the game progressed, I figured out which team was ours. This soccer game taught me a lot about team work and dedication and I hope to go to another game in the future.
During the GivePulse demo training, I learned about what is required of me in the Promise Scholarship. I also gained additional information on how to navigate GivePulse and add my impacts.
During this event, we discussed ways to care for ourselves while balancing classes. We talked about different things that we need to fuel ourselves, prevent burnout, and transition to a better version of ourselves. Afterwards, we looked through different plants and what they represent. We then were instructed to pick our individual plants and share with the group why we adopted our plants and their new name.
The Promise Scholarship Orientation was educational. I learned to use tools like Canvas and Navigate, and understood the scholarship's conditions and the support it provides. Hearing alumni share their challenges highlighted the importance of utilizing available resources to maintain the scholarship. While it requires commitment, the Promise Scholarship provides significant support for academic success and provides students with an opportunity to complete their associate's degree for free.
