Today's mini session was great, as it was extremely helpful with helping me figure out how to organize my academic planning, and also how to organize my courses by semester by accounting for realistic course load and life commitments. As well, I'll for sure start to use navigate for academic planning as it's more integrated.

This mini session was very informative and helpful in identifying "reading the room", and adapting communication styles to context while remaining authentic to ourselves. As well, there was some very helpful practical guidance presented on how to formulate clear emails, and discussion on respecting oneself and others regarding time etiquette.
The integrity quest was fun, I learned more about academic integrity, and how students shouldn't be relying on AI fully for sourcing, and must revise and confirm the sources manually. As well, students should not include nor remove a student who did not contribute to a group project, they instead must explain the situation to their professor and allow for them to handle the rest.
In this mini session, I was able to learn the difference between casual stress and burnout, which is when said casual stress becomes something long-term and completely takes over and hinders your day to day life outside of the stressor. I also learned ways to mitigate burnout from happening, and that's by first actively being kind with yourself and giving yourself breaks, seeking out help and assistance, and by changing your daily routine for the better.
This session was extremely beneficial, providing me with crucial guidance on how to navigate academic paths, and it also made clear the distinct differences between transfer focussed degrees and work force ready credentials. As well, the breakdown of GPA requirements and the demonstration on how to use tools like OnIT were things that I found very helpful for mapping out my student success and long-term career planning.
I learned about the historical context of voting, why I am able to vote today, and the importance of local voting for my generation. I also learned how to vote and actually fully understand what I'm voting for in general.
The event that I participated in was the W.I.S.E Path meeting, "Literacy: Creating a BluePrint for Success (Virtual) in PGCC". In this meeting I was able to meet like minded individuals who shared similar goals career wise, hobbies, etc. I also filled out an ikigai self awareness exercise which really did allow for me to self reflect on what I wanted to do with my future.
In this GivePulse Demo Training, I was able to learn about the process with uploading impacts and the patience needed with said impacts, as there are only 3 active individuals verifying everyones impact. As well, I learned that when completing hours, I need to aim for at least 1-2 hours higher than the required 15, as sometimes some impacts may be disputed and in that case, you'll have those extra hours to fall back on and your required hours will not be impeded upon.
During the Promise Scholarship LAUNCH! Orientation, I was able to gather a clear understanding of what is to be expected of me as a promise scholar. I learned about the core scholarship requirements, was able to get to know essential staff, and key student platforms like Canvas, Navigate360, and GivePulse. As well, I was able to hear directly from Promise Scholarship alumni who provided practical advice on things such as early networking and reviewing syllabi a week before classes start, making the session engaging, informative, and effective in preparing me for the upcoming term.
