For the October 17th S.O.S. I went to the Second Baptist Church Pumpkin Patch. I volunteered by rearranging hay stacks, reading to kids, painting faces, organizing and displaying pumpkins for the community, greeting visitors, and assisting families with selecting and purchasing pumpkins. Volunteering at the pumpkin patch was a rewarding way to connect with the local community outside of campus. It strengthened my teamwork and communication skills as I worked alongside other volunteers and interacted with families and children, reminding me of the importance of community engagement and shared spaces. The pumpkin patch served as a welcoming community hub and a seasonal tradition for families. In the short term, it provided a joyful, family-friendly activity and a sense of community connection. In the long term, events like this often raise funds for church outreach programs, supporting broader community initiatives and strengthening local bonds.
Had fun doing service !
