My time volunteering at the trail of lights was very enjoyable. The people that I got to work with were very enthusiastic. Being able to assist the visitors share their holiday flipbooks was fun.
I was stationed at one of the displays with a radio. I had to watch for kids without families and intoxicated people. Most of the night was easy but at one point we had to look for an elderly woman in our crowds. Also, although it was only mid 50s it felt really cold.
Although finding my way there was extremely misleading and difficult, it was an amazing experience. I volunteered at one of the stops along the trail called "candyland", dressing up as an elf, giving candy away, and directing the traffic within the tent. It was a nice way to forget about school and enjoy the Christmas spirit.
Such an enjoyable experience! The organizers of the event were all so nice. Also met so many great people. Definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to give back to the community and feel the holiday spirit at the same time.
