Today we learned a lot about opportunity, and taking advantage of the ones that come our way to in-turn make them successes. We discussed investments, and how advantageous investing into things like the stock market could be for us.

The meeting was about financial wellness and how money management affects college students’ success. It gave me more insight and ways to manage my money, reduce stress, and make better financial decisions.

During this mini session I learned a lot about the finance struggles people deal with. I also learned that 54% of post secondary learners face at least one form of basic needs. There are many people who struggle in finance but are scared to tell others. With what I learned I will be able to spread the word about FEC and allow people to break out of their self-limitation.

This was a very fun and informative mini session. Our guest speaker gave amazing insight and advice throughout the session. The standout from our meeting was how he spoke about the Netflix shares comparing today to back when he first started investing. It was also interesting to know that our guest speaker has only been investing for about 7 years now.

I learned that financial health is something you have to actively maintain through habits like budgeting, saving, and paying bills on time. It also showed how many students struggle with basic needs like food and housing, which can affect their academic success. Overall, I understood how financial stress can impact focus, mental health, and decision-making, especially when students rely on high-risk credit options.

This meeting has taught me about how to use different strategies that can help you with life and how to manage your money. I can also relate to some of the topics mentioned in the meeting, with the negative effects of college, but I am still doing okay although and with the realization of an invisible syllabus, I think I can grasp it when after college.
