ReFresh Meeting (Tuesday - AM) [Mandatory]

Tuesday, January 13th, 2026 from 11:00am to 12:00pm (ET)
Katherine Vasquez

I attended the refresh session on Tuesday. I got to hear all the requirements to stay in good standing with the scholarship again, completing 15 hours, attending required meetings and mini sessions. Passing classes with at least a C and completing progress reports. We played a kahoot aswell which I enjoyed.

In the refresh, we were reminded of the requirements to maintain our scholarship. In addition, we leaned the difference between academic recovery and program recovery. We did a kahoot at the same time which was very well done. I appreciate everyone who put together the meeting and was reminded of a lot.

Attending the Refresh Meeting was very a helpful and informative experience. I was reminded of the expectations and responsibilities. The Kahoot added was a fun inclusion. One part of the meeting that stood out to me was the break down of the 4 semesters in a school year.

I attended the scholarship refreshment meeting where we reviewed the requirements for being in the scholarship. We played a Kahoot game that helped go over the rules and expectations in a fun and interactive way. The meeting was helpful because it refreshed my understanding of what I need to do to remain eligible and successful in the program.

In this meeting I was about to get a refresh of the requirements of the program and understand how important it is to reach deadline early instead of doing anything late.

I learned that engagement hours are meant to help Promise Scholars build a stronger connection with PGCC, so hours must be earned through PGCC events only. Hours can be earned by attending campus events, workshops, club activities, and Promise Scholars meetings. Outside events, paid experiences, classes, tutoring, or advisor meetings do not count.

I also learned that students should regularly check their PGCC email and GivePulse, use their full legal name on GivePulse, and add their PGCC student email. Lastly, maintaining full-time enrollment, completing 30 credits per year, and keeping a 2.5 GPA or higher is important to stay in good standing with the program.
