I have always dream about going into a 4 year university and I now know what to expect and how to prepare.
I enjoyed this event and learned so much from it. I learned important things that I will put towards my college journey
After attending the college transfer made easy event I feel more confident about the transferring process once I finish at PGCC. This event was very beneficial because I am a student at PGCC who will be finished this summer and I’m a little unsure about the transferring process. I’ve applied at the school I plan on going to and I’ve been accepted I just have to pay the enrollment fee. After this event, I feel more prepared on the next steps as I know I need to reach out to a transfer advisor at that school and also an advisor just to get myself on track over there. I also learned that once I transfer I should keep the next degree inline with my current major so that way the credits I’ve gained at PGCC can transfer over. This was a very necessary and great event because it has helped many students who are in the transfer process ease their stress and answer some of the questions they might have had. Great event!
I attended "College Transfer Made Easy: DMV Archive Edition" and I got a lot of my questions answer so now I know what to expect and some knowledge when transferring.
After listening to Mr.Nottingham being interviewed by Teyana sackey I feel very confident with where to look for help if I needed when transferring to a 4 year university. I really enjoy this mini session because now I know that taking a day off from school for my mental health is not bad and it will actually help me with calming down my anxiety specifically when is toward the end of semester.
In this meeting, I was able to understand that moving to a 4 year institution, could be hard, but as long as you apply yourself, your experience will be amazing. I learned way to stay on top of your studies at a bigger school, you can go to your teachers office hours, see if your campus has a tutoring program and talking to your advisors could help to, also it’s best to join an organization because this could help you financially and intellectually. One thing I found important was learn about to to deal with your mental health while your away from home and navigating your way through college, you can attend counseling, take a mental day off, spend time with friends on campus if you can’t spend time with your family, and contact professors because they could help aswell.
We learned about the process of transferring to UMD, many different resources to help us get acclimated, financially and academically. It was a good informative session.
