Luisa gave to Volunteers for Youth
I loved my experience with the Chatham County teen court. I enjoyed learning about restorative justice initiatives, connecting with families who were navigating the teen court system, and mentoring jury members and ensuring that each juror shared their opinion. I would love to return to teen court and serve in a greater capacity once my health improves (I had to step away due to some health challenges and a hospital stay). I hope to support this mission more next year and help train some of the attorneys, as well as contribute to a stronger support network for parents whose children are participating in teen court. I volunteered under the supervision of Mia Pini and Ramiro Rios.
