During this menstrual kit workshop, we focused strictly on creating the inner liners. There was a station for tearing the fabric, a station for cutting it, and a station for outlining / creating the pattern. We also learned about the general crisis of period poverty and how this RSO aims to tackle it.
They did a great job at explaining all of the context behind the project that we were doing. We were split up into 4 stations- I was at the tracing station. I traced the pattern of the liners for the period products onto the fabric. This was a great way to do volunteer work!
I enjoyed helping make menstrual kits with the Days for Girls group! I think the goal of this club is very special and important! I’m interested in volunteering with them again.
