Hillside Green Roof Work Days

Unique and Fun Experience!

I helped Shadwick with Hillside gardening

Today I got my hands dirty. I made my way down to the hillside auditorium green roof at 9:40 this morning, where I would be doing my first green roof volunteering. One of my professors is a part of this volunteer project and first he showed my peers and I what to look for. Today we were picking out weeds and planting new flowers. Since this was my first time volunteering here, I picked out weeds. We sectioned off into groups and were assigned an area to clear out. I honestly really enjoyed doing this as I like being hands on with nature and the outside it general. By the end of the hour we made some pretty big progress and cleared all of our area.

Beautiful day on the roof!

Went to the hillside auditorium and pulled a bunch of weeds and planted new plants

It was the perfect day out with such nice weather!

Had so much fun pulling weeds on the green roof this morning!
