Watch zoom over getting involved in service at the University of Arkansas
I enjoyed this zoom meeting because it helped me learn about a ton of ways that I can get involved in serving my community. I also learned a lot about organizations I did not know of/much about before the zoom call.
This was a very informative zoom!
This zoom session was very informative. I realized that while I have always heard about the salvation army, I was not aware that it is more than thrift stores and monetary donations in front of stores. There are actually many ways to get involved with the salvation army such as the angel tree donation. I was also happy to hear that there are two locations that I can volunteer at, both Fayetteville and Bentonville.
I found the session really informative!
In this session, we had people from Circles NWA and The Salvation Army talk about how we can give back as a community. Circles NWA works towards ending poverty in Northwest Arkansas. You can help cook or provide a meal for those in need or even help out and play with kids at Circles NWA. The Salvation Army helps those that are in need whether they need clothes, food, or a place to stay. You can help The Salvation Army by sorting through clothes at one of their thrift stores, donating to their thrift stores, or even ringing a bell to help raise money.
I had a great experience at today's FYI session. I learned about two different local organizations to get involved with in the NWA area. The first is Circle NWA where I can volunteer to help those in poverty make their way out of poverty. The second organization is Salvation Army. I learned that I can volunteer as a bell ringer to help raise money. I can also volunteer by buying Christmas presents for children in need through their angel tree program. Lastly, we learned about volunteering in the thrift store.
