I thought this was a very informative way to get involved around my community!
loved hearing information about habitat for humanity, canopy NWA and big brothers & big sisters!!
I attended an hour long zoom session and three speakers shared ways to volunteer. They talked about building homes, big/little mentors, and helping refugees.
I loved getting the opportunity to hear more about the three volunteer organizations. I took pictures of the contact slides for each of them so that I could find out more information after the zoom call. I liked the Big Brother Big Sister because mentoring is something I am very interested in. I liked Habitat for Humanity because you do not have to be good at something to volunteer your time and effort. Anything helps and you get to see how much of an impact you make on each family. I liked Canopy NWA because again there are tutoring and mentoring opportunities, and I thought it was so cool how Swahili is now thew 4th most spoken language in Fayetteville Public schools.
great zoom
Great presentations and answered all of my questions.
It was super and interesting to hear about the students' lives that we could impact, and it was crazy to hear one 12 year old girl had been waiting over 800 days for a mentor.
This zoom was great on broadening my knowledge of what organizations I can volunteer at in my area that directly impact other people! I was really interested in learning about the local big brothers and big sisters program because I did a program like that in high school. Overall I am really glad that I attended the zoom so I can broaden my volunteer opportunities!
