It was great to learn about some of the Green Initiatives at UT and having the opportunity to work with different people. I have never had a garden so it was interesting to see all of the vegetation and see how it is all put together. Also being able to spend some time out in the sun was a plus. I feel that many do not have the opportunity disconnect from every day life and connect with nature and it was nice being able to do that today. It helps with de-stressing and relaxing.

I helped re-layer the mulch pathway surrounding the garden beds to prevent the growth of Bermuda grass, an invasive species. I also helped create a compost bed.
