Project Work Day - Concho Community Garden - Saturdays

It was a very nice experience! I really enjoyed helping out by clearing the ground and getting all de grass out! People in charge are very nice too!

This garden is an awesome thing to have and the purpose behind it makes it all the better. I'm a supporter of natural food produced on a smaller scale than the mass scale it is now. So helping to serve and maintain a small garden such as this to produce healthy nurturing food not only feels good, but does good for the environment and your body.

I assisted with watering the garden beds. As well as preparing and doing the foundation groundwork of the garden beds. We had to shovel off ground grass, place cardboard pieces on to ground of floor (to prevent grass from growing, which is alternative method than using pesticides), and the covering it with ground soil. It was a lovely experience. I hope to one day have enough time to go out there and plant something. I would definitely volunteer again.
