I volunteered as a projectionist at the Austin Film Festival. For this day I was projecting at the Rollins Theatre at the Long Center. It was a great learning experience as I was given the responsibility of projecting films for the audience to view. I also had to control the lights and the sound from the projectionist booth. Overall it was fun and I would do it again.
Had a great time volunteering! I accumulated so many hours that I was able to get a Conference badge and watch so many brilliant films! Plus, just working with the staff and getting to meet new people was amazing. I got to work at the Highland Galaxy Theater, AFF Tech Center, and Driskill Hotel for registration. I definitely enjoyed volunteering at the Austin Film Festival and can't wait to volunteer again next year.
I volunteered on multiple days at various venues, and had a great time each shift. Operational tasks were very organized and I met some wonderful people.
Nice way to get to know film lovers throughout Austin.
The Film Festival was successful thanks to the teamwork collaboration and communication with volunteers. It benefit me and the community because it helped boost the economy and show off artistic talent to people around the world. I was able to learn how the film industry works as I got to interact with film producers.
