AT HOME - Thanksgiving Card Making for Meals on Wheels

Open Opportunity

About

Help spread kindness this Thanksgiving by creating cheerful, heartfelt cards for older adults who receive meals through Meals on Wheels.

This easy, family-friendly project is a wonderful way for volunteers of all ages to make a difference from home. Get creative with colorful fall designs, pumpkins, leaves, and uplifting messages that remind recipients they are remembered and appreciated. For many recipients, a friendly visit or thoughtful gesture can mean just as much as the meal itself.

Card-Making Guidelines

  • Create handmade Thanksgiving cards with warm, cheerful messages.

  • Include colorful drawings, fall-themed designs, and words of kindness and encouragement.

  • Keep messages positive and inclusive, avoiding religious references.

  • You may sign your first name, but please do not include personal contact information.

Returning Your Completed Cards

Please email info@projectourtown.org to arrange a convenient time to drop off your completed cards at The Hive, 1460 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO 80222.

All Thanksgiving cards must be received by November 18, 2026, to allow time for distribution before the holiday.

Meals on Wheels programs provide nutritious meals and meaningful human connection to older adults and individuals who have difficulty shopping for or preparing food on their own. Beyond delivering meals, these programs help reduce isolation, support independence, and provide an important connection to the community.
