About
United Way of Greater Toledo invites you to help us kick off the 2026 Campaign — and make a real difference for the educators who make our community great.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to help teachers get their classrooms ready before the school year begins. Whether you're arranging furniture, organizing supplies, or setting up bulletin boards, every hour you give helps a teacher start the year strong.
All are welcome — bring a friend, bring your team, or come solo.
Want to make an even bigger impact? Consider donating items from our Teacher Supply Wish List:
- Hand sanitizer
- Disinfectant wipes
- Tissues
- Snack boxes (chips, cookies, etc.)
- Pencils
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs (moving boxes of supplies, furniture, etc.)
- Ability to bend, kneel, and reach (setting up low shelving, bulletin boards, floor-level storage)
- Ability to climb a step stool (hanging decorations, upper bulletin boards)
- Comfortable working in an active, hands-on environment
- Closed-toe shoes required — no sandals or flip-flops
- Comfortable, casual clothing recommended — you may get dusty or dirty
We want everyone to have an opportunity to make an impact. If the physical requirements are a barrier, contact us at volunteer@unitedwaytoledo.org, and we'll work with you to find a meaningful role.
