UCA will hold spring commencement ceremonies on Thursday, April 30th, and Friday, May 1st. The university relies on the support of employees across campus to ensure that this event goes smoothly! With most of the ceremonies occurring during regular business hours, we encourage supervisors to allow employees to serve at commencement as their work assignment for the day.
Student volunteers are also invited to join in the occasion for volunteer service hours!

Commencement Ceremony Times:
- Thursday, April 30th at 5pm (Staff and volunteers arrive at 3:30pm)
- Friday, May 1st at 9am (Staff and volunteers arrive at 7:30am)
- Friday, May 1st at 12pm (Staff and volunteers arrive at 10:30am)
- Friday, May 1st at 3pm (Staff and volunteers arrive at 1:30pm)
- Friday, May 1st at 6pm (staff and volunteers arrive at 4:30pm)

Staff and Volunteer Information
- Attire for staff and volunteers is business casual (no jeans or athletic wear). Please wear your UCA name badge if you have one. If you do not have one, a commencement volunteer name tag will be provided for you.
- Duties include passing out programs, scanning tickets, welcoming visitors, assisting with accessible seating, and ushering visitors to seating areas.
- Staff and volunteers will need to report to the Farris Center Lobby to check in 1½ hours prior to the ceremony. Note that some shifts will be dismissed 30 minutes into the ceremony, while others will need to stay for the duration of the ceremony. Please pay attention to the shift length start and end times you are signing up for.
- UCA employees may receive Staff Senate volunteer time (up to 16 hours of earned leave per year) for any Commencement hours that occur outside of their typical work hours.
