Service with a Purpose

Panthers Day of Service is a community engagement initiative designed to bring
compassion, companionship, and meaningful service to the elderly population at the
Social Care Adult Center in Hialeah. This project will mobilize student volunteers to
support seniors through interactive activities, emotional support, and light assistance,
fostering intergenerational connection and community impact.
Purpose and Objectives
The primary purpose of this project is to enhance the well-being of elderly adults while
providing students with hands-on service-learning experience. The objectives include:
• Providing companionship and emotional support to senior participants
• Promoting dignity, inclusion, and respect for the elderly population
• Encouraging civic engagement and volunteerism among students
• Strengthening relationships between the university and local community 
organizations

Please note that Our Panthers Give Back on Spring Break does not include transportation—participants will need to drive themselves to the site.
