About
Do you have a skill, a hobby, or professional expertise that could help someone build a more stable future? We believe that knowledge is power, and our Life Skills volunteers are the key to empowering our residents with the practical tools they need to thrive.
We are looking for passionate individuals to host workshops or classes for our children, young adults, or families.
Your 'Life Skill' could be anything that fosters independence, such as:
-
Financial Literacy: Budgeting, saving, or understanding credit.
-
Health & Wellness: Simple cooking, nutrition, yoga, or stress management.
-
Career Readiness: Resume building, interview prep, or basic computer skills.
-
Creative Arts & Practical Trades: Art therapy, basic sewing, or home organization.
As a Life Skills Instructor, you aren't just teaching a class you are helping a neighbor gain the confidence to navigate life’s challenges. Whether it’s a one time workshop or a recurring series, your gift of time and knowledge makes a lasting impact on the journey toward self-sufficiency.
Please be aware that teaching a Life Skills class at some SAMMinistries locations requires a cleared criminal background check. This is especially important for volunteers working with children or youth.
