About

Independent Living Services has a day program for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities that serves about 125 consumers every Monday-Friday. The location is at 615 E Robins St, just a few blocks from UCA. Opportunities to assist instructors in various programs including: Art, Music, Farm/Garden, Social Skills, Advocacy and Hygiene/Life skills, Home Economics, Computer Lab. Volunteer tasks can be tailored to fit your major. Opportunities related to healthcare, PT/OT/ST, nursing, social work, marketing, business development, Human Resources, Transportation, Logistics, Supply, Nutrition Management, etc. are all available. There are after-hours large group events that can be worked such as a winter formal dance or Bingo night. No background check is required as volunteers will not be left unattended with clients.

Requirement Details

Basic demographics and identification on file with ILS. Background checks are not required as volunteers will not be left unattended with clients.
