This Is Our Thank You - Letter Writing Project

For our MLK Day of Service event for this year, we are continuing with our Letter Writing Campaign honoring the 26 activists who organized and participated in the 1960 High Point Sit-Ins!

We would love for you to come out and show your support to members of our community who helped to shape the rights and responsibilities we have access to today.

"This project serves to invite the city of High Point, its leaders, students, institutions, legislators, businesses, and its residents to write a note of thanks and recognition.

These notes will go to the 24 William Penn and Two High Point High School alumni who participated in and organized the 1960 Woolworth sit-ins right here in High Point.

Our goal is to Have 211 note cards for each individual to represent the day of their first sit in, February 11th (2/11). This will total out to 5,486 individual notes of thanks from those of us who call High Point a place of home or work."
