Commencement is a significant event for students, families and the university community, and UCA appreciates the many efforts of staff in making this event possible! Thank you for volunteering.
Location for December Commencement: Farris Center (Volunteers report to Farris Center lobby)
Commencement Ceremony Times:
- Thursday, December 11th at 5:00 pm (Volunteers arrive at 3:30 pm)
- Friday, December 12th at 9:00 am (Volunteers arrive at 7:30 am)
- Friday, December 12th at 12:00 pm (Volunteers arrive at 10:30 am)

Volunteer Information
- Attire for volunteers is business casual (no jeans). Please wear your UCA name badge if you have one. If you do not have one, a commencement volunteer name tag will be provided for you.
- Duties include greeting guests, scanning tickets, passing out programs, providing directions as ushers, and assisting with accessible seating.
- Volunteers will need to report to Farris Center Lobby to check in 1 hour and 30 minutes before the ceremony. Some volunteer roles will be dismissed 30 minutes after the start of the ceremony, and others will be asked to stay until the ceremony concludes (expected ceremony time is 1 hour and 30 minutes). Please pay attention to the start and end times when selecting a shift and select only one shift per ceremony.
- UCA employees will receive Staff Senate Volunteer Time (up to 16 hours of which can be accrued as earned leave each year) for any volunteer time outside of their typical work hours. (For example, this means that if a volunteer's work day typically ends at 4:30, that volunteer will not accrue time for volunteer hours occurring before 4:30 pm on Friday.)
- Refreshments are provided for volunteers.
