About
Since 1991, neighbors and community volunteers have maintained parks and green spaces around East and West Bouldin Creek. While there is some trash to be collected, Nicholas Dawson and Ricky Guerrero Park as well as the West Bouldin Creek Greenbelt are pretty clean, thanks to the ongoing efforts of engaged neighbors.
This gives us a chance to concentrate on maintenance: widening trails and removing invasive plants such as nandina, ligustrum, chinaberries and the ever-proliferating catsclaw vines.
We will meet at the entrance to Nicholas Dawson Park for coffee, then divide into crews to cover portions of both East and West Bouldin Creek.
Tools, gloves and trash bags will be provided. Please dress in long-sleeved shirts and long pants to guard against possible contact with poison ivy and wear sturdy shoes. Be prepared to get muddy and dirty and have a very good time. Kids, dogs and family friends welcome.
Individuals under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult in order to volunteer.
