[EXTERNAL REGISTRATION] New York Blood Center Volunteer

Open Opportunity

About

REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS EXTERNAL. Visit https://www.nybc.org/support-us/volunteer/ to sign up.

NYBC volunteers provide care, attention, and assistance to the many dedicated blood donors who roll up their sleeves to give the gift of life. They serve to educate and encourage the public to donate at schools, businesses and community organizations.

Positions Include:

  • Volunteer Ambassador: Meet and greet volunteer blood donors and monitor donor safety. Record accurate information to register donors using a simple computer program (training provided). Educate donors on the automated apheresis process of donating red cells or platelets. Convert donors to apheresis donation at blood drives or donor centers.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with clerical work in various NYBC departments.
  • Community Educator: Educate potential donors and community groups about the importance of donating blood.

There are multiple locations across New York, and volunteer placement will vary depending on the needs of the centers.
