Thrive Mahoning Valley is excited to offer ThriveLink, a comprehensive initiative aimed at connecting residents to vital social services in both English and Spanish. By providing a digital and printable resource guide and customized regional map, ThriveLink seeks to break down language barriers and ensure equitable access to essential services across Mahoning Valley.

We’re seeking multilingual volunteers to help us translate our resource guide information into additional languages, making resources accessible to even more people in our community.

If you are fluent in English and another language, your skills can make a huge impact! Some of the languages we’re prioritizing include (but are not limited to):

• Arabic
• French
• Swahili
• Mandarin
• Portuguese
• Nepali
• Somali
• Hindi

If you speak a language that is not on the list, we welcome you to apply.

What You’ll Do:

• Translate sections (the descriptions of each community resource) of our resource guide from English into your fluent language(s).
• Translate copy/templates for initiative outreach on social media
• Collaborate with our team to ensure cultural relevance and accuracy.
• Help make the guide accessible to more community members in need.

Here is an example: This is our description for Youngstown City School District

English - Provides quality education from early childhood to high school. They offer academic programs, extracurricular activities, special education, and support services, all aimed at helping students grow and succeed in a safe and inclusive environment.

Spanish - Brindan educación de calidad desde la primera infancia hasta la secundaria. Ofrecen programas académicos, actividades extracurriculares, educación especial y servicios de apoyo, todos destinados a ayudar a los estudiantes a crecer y tener éxito en un ambiente seguro e inclusivo.

Some descriptions can be longer (up to 100 English words per description), while others are shorter. Currently we have 50-60 descriptions to be translated, with more being added on throughout the year.

Skills Needed:

• Fluency in English and at least one additional language.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and meet agreed-upon deadlines.
