EpicSUP Cleanup

Hello Volunteers! We’d like to thank you for volunteering with Keep Austin Beautiful and EpicSUP. You'll be working on giving some extra care to the lake and trails of our wonderful Lady Bird Lake. You have signed up to participate in the EpicSUP cleanup. Kayaks and paddleboards are available via waterway registration but if you are uncomfortable going out on the water, we'll have you focus on litter abatement along the hike & bike trail.

Your Lake Leader for this site will be Lauren Carson with Keep Austin Beautiful and she will have your cleanup supplies, helpful safety guidelines, and further instructions for you.

“Know Before You Go”

Before you head out, please keep the following in mind:

• Be aware that toxic algae blooms can occur in Lady Bird Lake. Whenever you're around natural bodies of water, remain vigilant.
• Recognize that zebra mussels are invasive and widespread in Texas waterways. Let us know if you see any zebra mussels during your volunteer activity.
• Be able to identify poison ivy, oak, and sumac; identifying these plants is essential for a safe cleanup.
• Hydrate and take precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses. Consult this guide for tips on recognizing and addressing heat-related issues.

If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your shift at your earliest convenience to re-open those spots for registration.

Thanks again for being involved in making Austin such a unique and beautiful place to live and experience! See you on the lake!
