SIL Socials: Arts & Crafts Night

SIL hosts monthly social gatherings for our consumers of all ages with disabilities to come together and have fun.

The 2ndFriday of every month is Game Night from 3:00-4:30pm. 
The 3rd Friday of every month is Movie Matinee from 3:00-4:30pm.
The 4th Friday of every month is Arts & Crafts night 3:00-4:30pm.
These social gatherings are hosted at the SIL Offices on W. Ash St. in Columbia. 

We are looking for student volunteers to attend the social gatherings to help facilitate cross-disability and intergenerational community! We need your help to set up the conference room for crafting: covering the tables, setting out supplies like aprons and gloves, welcoming consumers as they arrive at SIL, and assisting in the arts & crafts activity.

SIL socials are an opportunity for consumers to practice conversation, peer support, and other social skills. It can be really fun and is more rewarding the more often you volunteer because you can start to make connections with individuals who come to each event.
