About
🌱 Help enhance the Kendall Environmental Center, a nine-acre nature preserve right on campus! This Fall, we’ll be hosting bi-weekly volunteer workdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
📍The Environmental Center is located at Kendall Campus (11011 SW 104th St). The entrance is on the west side of campus, at the intersection of Bamboo Drive and SW 113th Place, across from the baseball fields. Look for the large blue sign that says Environmental Center.
🌻 During the Environmental Workdays, volunteers will help remove invasive plant species that threaten native ecosystems and plant native trees and shrubs to support local wildlife. We’ll also work on trail maintenance and habitat restoration projects to keep the preserve healthy and vibrant. These hands-on activities are a great way to connect with nature while making a real difference on campus!
Students are welcome to join for part or all of the session. Volunteers will earn service hours and 10 points on the Civic Action Scorecard (ES-18A) for their time.
Note: Walk-ins are welcome! Even if a volunteer shift is full, you're still encouraged to stop by and participate. We’d love to have you join us!

Requirement Details
IMPORTANT: All participants must dress appropriately for working outdoors - please wear close-toed sneakers/shoes, comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, a lightweight LONG-SLEEVED shirt, long pants (not shorts), and a hat. Please also bring a bottle of drinking water.
Parking Details
NOTE: There is no parking available at the Environmental Center. Please park in any of the lots on campus and walk over to the center. Student parking lot 5 is the closest parking to the center.
