Availability: Sunday through Saturday, and hours are flexible depending on the needs of the volunteer and the assignment.
Gentiva's volunteer program offers a lot of opportunities for administrative office help, answering phones, filing, putting together admission packets and facility binders, put away patient supplies, and other office duties.
For those who want to see patients we have Direct Care volunteers which provide companionship, little housekeeping, care giver relief which is just for the caregiver to go to store, or dr. appointment and volunteer stays with patient. Volunteer never provides any care to patient.
We have Bereavement volunteers for those who have experience in spiritual care or counseling, they would help with bereavement mailings. Reiki Volunteers if certified.
Dog Pet Therapy if dog is certified. Veteran Volunteers to help with Veteran pinning ceremonies and Vet to Vet Cafe's we have for veterans. Volunteer Veterans visiting Veteran patients.

Requirement Details
The onboarding process requires volunteers: to take background check, drug screening, t-spot TB blood draw or 2 step TB skin test. This is all paid by Gentiva. Volunteers must fill out application, have 2 references, and complete an orientation. Administrative volunteers can be 16 and older, they do not have to have Driver's License. The patient volunteers must be 18, have driver's license and proof of car insurance.
