Race for the Warrior-10th Annual

With Veterans being one of the pillars we serve at Community Harvest, we fully support the Race for the Warrior, which benefits those men and women who fought (or continue to fight) for our freedoms! We will still be having our Saturday food distribution that morning, so this is just an additional volunteer opportunity that day. Several of the race's volunteer shifts don't start until 11:00 or 12:00 (or later), and with the food bank being only 15 minutes from the airport, this could be doable in addition to Helping Hands for any of you SUPER volunteers! I was told that volunteers will be provided some free food, a drink, and admission to The Hubie Ashcraft Band's concert that afternoon at the airport. The volunteer link for the race is listed below:

There are several different opportunities with various time commitments, including a couple opportunities the week of the race (these are at different locations), so you're sure to find one that works for you! Also, do not feel obligated to sign up through GivePulse, as this event is not put on by Community Harvest.

If any of you are runners, walkers, or people who just want to enjoy the weather and take a trip around a runway by foot, please sign up to compete! The perks of volunteering also apply for runners: food, drink, and concert admission. The race starts at 1:00pm, so again, Helping Hands could be your warm up before you take flight! The link with more information, and to register for the race itself, is listed here: https://runsignup.com/Race/IN/FortWayne/RaceForTheWarrior

Additionally, the link above includes a way to donate, if that is how you want to give. It also shows the way to just purchase concert tickets, if that is where your interest lies. Net proceeds will go to the Military Support Fund of the Northeast Indiana Base Community Council and other missions!

We hope to see you out there!
